This training is required in order to volunteer in our county fair booth & at other outreach events. \nAPPLIED SUICIDE INTERVENTION SKILLS TRAINING (ASIST) – 6/17 & 6/18: 2-day training program that teaches participants how to assist those at risk for suicidal thinking\, behavior\, & attempts. \nMENTAL HEALTH TOOLBOX: Discover an interactive visual aid for coping skills\, boundary setting\, and relationship building. Made possible by a grant from the Southwest MN Arts Council. \nOther trainings available: \n\nCounceling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM)\nQuestion\, Persuade\, Refer (QPR)\nSafeTALK for Ag\nYouth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Register here.\n\nAdult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) gives adults who work and interact with fellow adults the skills they need to to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges and offer support. MHFA can help people who are developing a mental health problem\, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem\, or are in a mental health crisis.\n\nThis free 6-hour training addresses common mental health concerns encountered by adults\, with the goals of reducing stigma and offering self-help strategies for staying mentally well.\n\n2 hours of online self-paced prework must be completed prior to the class.\n\nMinimum class size: 8\, max class size: 30\nLunch provided\n*Funded by Meeker County Suicide Prevention Coalition through a grant partnership with MDH.
